This is another favorite festival of mine. It certainly helps that is named after one of my favorite trumpet players and one of my early influences. If you want to play trumpet and want to address the be-bop/hard-bop era then you must address the legacy of Clifford Brown as he is certainly one of the most important trumpet players of this era. This year we are convening a trumpet summit to play Clifford's music. I've recruited three of my favorite trumpet players, Jeremy Pelt, Tom Harrell and Valery Ponomarev to help me with this task. I'll also have the great Louis Hayes on drums for this one. -David Weiss
